Measles and cholera have killed more than 1000 people in Congo: An outbreak of measles in the Democratic Republic of the Congo after follow-up mass vaccination campaigns were halted has resulted in 115 484 cases and 1145 deaths since September 2010, said the World Health Organization. New campaigns have led to six million children being vaccinated in April and May, with a further 915 000 targeted for July. An outbreak of cholera had resulted in 3245 cases and 192 deaths to 8 July.
