Sacked cardiologist takes former employer to High Court

A former consultant cardiologist who was sacked nearly nine years after he was first suspended has taken his former employers to the high court in London, claiming that his dismissal was unlawful and therefore void.
Raj Mattu was suspended by University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust in February 2002 on allegations of bullying, five months after he spoke to the BBC about the deaths of two patients in overcrowded bays at Walsall Hospital in Coventry.
