UK public must expect to pay for long term care, says care services minister

Care services minister Paul Burstow urged the public to be realistic about the funding of long term care and warned that the idea of a fully tax funded system was a “fantasy.”

In a speech hosted by health think tank the King’s Fund and the charity Age UK, Mr Burstow said that the public needed to be aware that social care had never been free.
