Foundation trusts still struggle to hit cancer treatment targets, finds Monitor

NHS foundation trusts in England have improved their financial performance in the past year, but many are still struggling to meet waiting time targets for cancer services, a report by Monitor, the regulator of foundation trusts, has found.

At the beginning of 2010-11 Monitor identified a number of key challenges that could present major risks to the financial viability of foundation trusts (BMJ 2010;341:c4438, doi:10.1136/bmj.c4438).
