South Sudan sees rise in sectarian conflict: Rising sectarian violence along the new border in the run up to South Sudan’s independence next month has left 175 000 people displaced. Last week the Archbishop of Canterbury warned of “another Darfur” after the local cathedral was burned down. The World Food Programme says that aid is being prevented from reaching a further 400 000 people.
