The head of an international investigative panel looking into the World Health Organization’s handling of the H1N1 influenza pandemic has promised the inquiry will present a “critical” and transparent report.
Harvey Fineberg, chairman of the external review committee, told members of WHO’s governing board that the report will deal with all the criticisms levelled at the agency, such as how it defined a pandemic, and identify lessons for strengthening preparedness and scope for a future response to a pandemic.
