George Kenneth Mackenzie (“Mac”) was born in 1911 and graduated MB ChB from Edinburgh University in 1936.
He served as lieutenant surgeon in the Royal Navy in destroyers during the second world war in the North Atlantic, Normandy, the Far East, and West Africa, where he met his English wife, Marjorie.
He gained his MD in 1951 and settled in family practice in West Linton, Peeblesshire.
