NHS trust admits negligent incontinence care harmed many women

Hundreds of women are claiming compensation for operations carried out by consultant urogynaecologist George Rowland, in a case which is expected to cost the NHS millions of pounds.
Liverpool Women’s NHS Foundation Trust is being sued by around 400 women, in one of the biggest group actions against the NHS. The General Medical Council has placed conditions on Mr Rowland’s practice, banning him from carrying out urogynaecological surgery and requiring him to confine his practice to NHS posts in general gynaecology.
