Focus interventions on preventing HIV on adolescents, says report

Countries worldwide, but in particular those in sub-Saharan Africa with high prevalence rates of HIV, need to focus on a chain of effective core interventions to prevent new infections among young people, says a joint report by UN agencies and the World Bank.

“There is evidence that core interventions to prevent infections among adolescents and young people can be effective when used as part of a combination approach that includes behavioural, biomedical, and structural components,” it says.
