Dennis Michael O’Donoghue (“Don”) was educated at Christchurch Boys’ High School and the University of New Zealand. He had initial training in anaesthesia in Christchurch and completed this at University College Hospital (UCH), London. He was appointed consultant anaesthetist to the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in 1953 and later to UCH. …
