The UK National Screening Committee has recommended that flexible sigmoidoscopy be introduced to the national screening programme for bowel cancer, after reviewing available evidence and a public consultation on the issue.
The committee, which advises the health services of all four UK countries on national screening policy, looked at new evidence on the options for screening for colorectal cancer.
