Office of Fair Trading is to look into private healthcare market in UK

The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) is to investigate whether anticompetitive practices exist in the private healthcare market in the United Kingdom, as NHS reforms open the way to more use of private providers in the state health service in England.

The consumer watchdog said that its initial consultation indicated that “consumers of private healthcare may not be receiving the benefits of a fully competitive market.”
