Asian countries need to find new ways to meet their healthcare needs, such as affordable medical devices and alternative ways to finance healthcare, concludes a new report by the Economist Intelligence Unit.
The unit’s report, Healthcare in Asia: The Innovation Imperative, was released to coincide with an Economist Conferences round table meeting on healthcare in Asia in 2011, held on 17 and 18 February in Hong Kong.
How to sustainably fund affordable healthcare for all is a common challenge across the continent. The report advocates collaboration among governments, non-government organisations, communities, and the corporate sector.
