Sabah Al-Zayyat, the paediatrician accused of failing to spot Baby P’s serious injuries two days before he died, has won the right to bring a High Court challenge to the General Medical Council’s refusal to let her avoid a public hearing by removing her name voluntarily from the medical register.
At the High Court in London Mr Justice Kenneth Parker ruled that her case should be heard the week beginning 22 November and that she be granted a stay of the GMC proceedings in the meantime.
