Group calls for action on hepatitis B and C in Europe: An alliance of leading doctors, scientists, and patients’ groups (www.hepsummt2010.org) has called on the European Union to organise Europe-wide surveillance of hepatitis B and C and raise public awareness of the dangers if the infections are left untreated. The initiative was launched in Brussels on 15 October by several organisations, including the European Liver Patients Association and the World Hepatitis Alliance.
