The government’s plan to cap immigration to the UK poses a serious threat to the country’s standing as a centre of scientific excellence, claim eight Nobel prize winning academics.
The group of research experts has spoken out collectively in opposition to the coalition government’s plans to restrict the number of migrants coming to the UK from outside the European Union.
In a letter to the Times (7 October), the laureates said, “The UK has long had a reputation as a global centre of research excellence.”
