International medical and humanitarian groups are providing emergency medical treatment and psychosocial support to hundreds of women, children, and men, mass raped by rebel soldiers in July and August in the war ravaged eastern areas of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The aid groups, many of which are provided with support by the World Health Organization and Unicef, include the US based International Medical Corps, Save the Children, Merlin, Heal Africa, Care International, and Oxfam.
