Visintin and colleagues provide a useful summary of the guidance from the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) on managing bacterial meningitis and meningococcal septicaemia in children and young people.1 Further information relating to organisms causing bacterial meningitis other than Neisseria meningitidis is available in the more detailed guidelines.
