The proportion of injecting drug users in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland who were protected against hepatitis B last year rose to the highest level in more than 10 years, show new data. But the prevalence of hepatitis C is rising, especially among younger drug users.
The figures come from an annual survey carried out by the Health Protection Agency on a sample of more than 3000 injecting drug users who use services at 60 specialist drug agencies.
