    The body of a 5 year old girl who was subjected to serious abuse had to be exhumed after questions arose over the findings of a pathologist who accepted her father and stepmother’s explanation that she fell down stairs, a General Medical Council fitness to practise panel has heard.

    Freddy Patel failed to spot signs of violence when he examined the body of Annastacia Williams, who died of serious head injuries at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London in 2002.
