Tributes have been paid to a popular and respected doctor who has died aged 78.
Dr Masud Anwar helped countless patients during his career, including more than 20 years as a consultant physician in Hartlepool.
Born in India in 1931, Dr Anwar emigrated to Pakistan during the Partition as a young boy with his family.
