A consultant dismissed for gross professional and personal misconduct has won the go-ahead from the Court of Appeal to sue his former employers for more than £4m (€4.8m; $5.8m) in compensation for ruining his career by using the wrong disciplinary process.
In their judgment, three senior judges overturned a high court ruling last year that Michael Edwards could sue only for salary he would have earned until the alternative disciplinary process was concluded, plus three months pay in lieu of notice.
