    A GP flew her teenage daughter from the United Kingdom to Spain for a late abortion after she was turned down by a British clinic, a General Medical Council panel heard this week.

    Saroj Adlakha, who ran the Shilpa medical centre in Kings Heath, Birmingham, paid €3200 (£2900; $4650) for her 18 year old daughter to have the abortion at the Ginemedex clinic in Barcelona, the GMC’s counsel, Heather Norton, told the fitness to practise panel.
