Britain’s leading role in improving global access to health care in recent years needs to be maintained whoever wins the next election, says a group of major British health charities that is calling on all parties to “ensure the health Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) can be met.”
The call to action was made at a parliamentary launch organised by the Action for Global Health coalition and a score of affiliated charities. The meeting was addressed by international development minister Mike Foster MP and Baroness Jenny Tonge of the Liberal Democrats, although the Conservatives failed to provide a speaker.
