Charlotte Emma Hall (“Charlie”) died suddenly on 12 November 2009. She had been suffering for several years from severe bipolar mental disorder that had proved extremely resistant to treatment.
Charlie was brought up in Humberside, where she attended Wolfreton School, and came to Sheffield Medical School in 1991. She had a distinguished undergraduate career, in which she obtained several distinctions and prizes and first class honours in her bachelor of medical sciences degree in health care of elderly people.
