Cases of dengue fever soar in Cape Verde: Prompt action is needed to limit the outbreak of dengue fever in Cape Verde, says the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. So far 13 700 cases have been recorded in the outbreak, it says, and 700 to 800 new cases are being registered every day. At least six people have died, and 109 cases of dengue haemorrhagic fever, the severest form of the disease, have been diagnosed. …
