Four hundred prominent doctors and academic healthcare experts in the United States have sent a letter to Congress saying that the US healthcare system is in crisis and needs reform now.
They said that Congress had moral and ethical obligations to improve health care for US citizens.
The signatories include academic, clinical, and health administration professionals. They are among the biggest names in medicine in the US and members of the advocacy group Health Reform USA.
In a statement the group said, “We have taken care of patients, managed large and small healthcare organizations, taught young students medicine and public health and conducted research on the quality of healthcare and the ways to improve the healthcare system for all Americans . . .
