Rich donor nations are not providing enough aid to enable developing countries to meet the millennium development goals set by the United Nations for 2015, the latest UN assessment report says.

“We have been moving too slowly to meet our goals,” said the UN secretary general, Ban Ki-moon. “Yet the report shows that when we have the right policies, backed by adequate funding and strong political commitment, actions can yield results.”
