Roche stops selling isotretinoin in US: Roche has stopped making and distributing isotretinoin (Roaccutane), its treatment for severe acne, in the United States, saying that the drug’s market share there had fallen to below 5% since the drug came off patent. US juries have awarded at least $33m (£20m; €24m) in damages to users who blamed the drug for bowel disease. The drug has also been linked to birth defects and depression. Roche has defended the drug’s safety.
