BBC to pay Taranissi over libel action: The BBC has settled a libel action brought by the infertility specialist Mohamed Taranissi over a Panorama programme in 2007, which he claimed made defamatory allegations about his techniques. The settlement on undisclosed terms follows a High Court ruling last October that ordered the BBC to pay Mr Taranissi an estimated £500 000 (€578 000; $803 000) in costs after it withdrew part of its defence.
