One of the pioneers of modern surgery in Iraq, Khalid Naji will be remembered by thousands of his students whom he taught and trained for more than 50 years.
He was born in Baghdad, Iraq, in 1923 and was educated in Baghdad. He graduated from the Royal College of Medicine of Baghdad in 1945, obtaining a masters degree in surgery in 1948 for his thesis entitled, “Nerve ending growth in burns patients.”
