Jeevan Muddappa Deyanda was a dedicated, hard working cardiology trainee who died prematurely in 2007. He was born in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. He attended primary school in his home city and continued his secondary schooling at a boarding school in a neighbouring state. He undertook his medical degree at Mysore Medical College, during which time his father fell ill with complications from a suspected myocardial infarction.
Soon after Jeevan completed his house officer posts in a hospital in Mysore, he travelled to Russia to take part in cardiology research at the Moscow Medical Academy. …
