Chaplaincy services cost NHS £40m: Research by the National Secular Society has found that chaplaincy services cost the NHS more than £40m (€44m; $59m) a year. The money could pay for about another 1300 nurses or 2500 cleaning staff, it says. The society has called on the health minister, Alan Johnson, to consider ending the funding.
