Patients in Denmark consider themselves to be the most empowered in Europe, and patients in the United Kingdom were in 17th place out of the 31 countries surveyed in a study.
The study surveyed people in 27 European Union countries as well as Croatia, the Republic of Macedonia, Norway, and Switzerland. It was conducted by the Health Consumer Powerhouse, a company that provides consumer analysis and information, and was funded by an unrestricted research grant from Novartis.
