Germany predicts fall in cases of bowel cancer: A big fall in numbers of cases of colorectal cancer in Germany is forecast as a result of the 2002 introduction of colonoscopy as a primary screening tool. Estimates based on nearly two million screening colonoscopies are that numbers of cases will drop by more than 15 000 from 2003 to 2010 (European Journal of Cancer, doi:10.1016/j.ejca.2009.02.017).
