Legislation aims to optimise organ donation across Europe

The European Commission has drafted legislation and a 10 point action plan to improve the quality and availability of organ donations.

Announcing the measures, Androulla Vassiliou, the European health commissioner, said, “These measures are all about saving lives. We want to reassure citizens and patients across Europe that the European Union and member states are working together to maximise efforts to provide high quality and safe transplant systems.”
