Cases of C difficile fall in England: There were 8683 cases of Clostridium difficile in people older than 65 in England between April and June 2008, a fall of 18% on the previous quarter, January to March 2008, when the total was 10 608. This represents a fall of 38% from the same quarter in 2007, when 13 924 cases were recorded in patients aged 65 years and older.
