    Roger Baron Pickford (“Rog”) died suddenly from unsuspected idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy while camping with his brother in his beloved Marloes, Pembrokeshire. Roger had singlehandedly set up a highly regarded adult and paediatric echocardiography service during the early 1980s, and it seemed quite ironic that he should die of an undetected cardiac condition.
