Mental health services in England among best in Europe, says WHO

    A report on mental health services in Europe highlights wide variations among states and indicates that services in England are among the best available.

    The World Health Organization’s report was published on world mental health day, 10 October, alongside a report on mental health services worldwide. It gives an extensive overview of funding levels, staffing, primary and secondary provision, and the mechanisms in place to monitor human rights.

    Better research into mental health and improved translation of that research into good practice are among the goals that WHO identifies for further action.
