Although it is a year since David Christison died at the age of 92, it still seems appropriate to mark his passing as he achieved much in his medical career.
The eldest of four, he grew up on the Marquis of Bute’s Dumfries House Estate, Aucheleck, Ayrshire, and was educated at Cumnock Academy, where he met his wife to be, who also studied medicine at Glasgow University.
