The European Commission has updated its drugs action plan, which it is looking to implement from the beginning of next year. The strategy will focus on the twin targets of reducing demand for and supply of drugs.
The package, which includes health and law enforcement measures, is the responsibility of Jacques Barrot, the commissioner responsible for justice, freedom, and security rather than his public health colleague Androulla Vassiliou.
