    In an uncharacteristically dyspeptic column, Hawkes castigates the General Medical Council over several unrelated issues.1 Donning his suit of rusty armour and unsheathing the sword of truth and justice, he sallies forth to fight the battles of yesteryear without fear, favour, or much forethought.
