More than 100 000 children in Ethiopia need therapeutic feeding

Millions of people in Ethiopia need help urgently to prevent widespread famine, the Ethiopian government and United Nations agencies said last week as they announced a joint appeal for funds.
The new appeal comes after the failure of the spring harvest, which has left some 4.6 million people in need of emergency food aid—almost double the figure of 2.4 million for whom an appeal was made last month. This is in addition to eight million people who are already receiving regular food aid from the national safety net programme.
