The German Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices has ordered the drug manufacturer RotexMedica to recall its blood thinning heparin products from the market. The order comes after 80 patients undergoing dialysis had severe allergic reactions to the products. The side effects are thought to be linked to contaminated ingredients imported from China.
