A consultant surgeon has been jailed for four years for fraud by the Dublin Circuit Criminal Court for what the presiding judge described as a “particularly evil and nasty offence.” Emad Massoud (52) and his wife Gehan (45), a nurse, had earlier been convicted of defrauding almost €750 000 (£590 000; $1.2m) from two insurance companies after falsely claiming that Gehan Massoud had breast cancer.
