Chinese health ministry takes over drug regulation: China’s Ministry of Health will take control of the State Food and Drug Administration and become directly responsible for monitoring the country’s food and drug safety. The administration’s former chief, Zheng Xiaoyu, was executed in July last year for accepting bribes from companies wanting to push through products without the required safety checks.
