Healthcare Commission will publicise NHS trusts’ levels of infection control

The Healthcare Commission is planning to put on its website user friendly statistics about levels of infection control at different NHS trusts in England. It says that patients have a “huge appetite” for safety initiatives and for statistics showing standards at their local hospital.
The move was discussed at a round table meeting last week of leaders of safety regulators in London, which included representatives from the National Patient Safety Agency and the Health and Safety Executive, as well as from the commission itself.
