Royal colleges admit some responsibility for recruitment chaos

    The royal colleges are partly to blame for some of the chaos faced by UK junior doctors in securing a training place last year, MPs have been told.

    College representatives admitted that they could have done more to resist the Modernising Medical Careers (MMC) system for recruitment to training posts that was “imposed” on junior doctors in the NHS and that, if they had worked together, the colleges might have had a greater influence.
