Otto Fleming was an inspirational gentleman, whose life was a triumph of well-merited success over early adversity.
He was born in 1914, the only child of the Jewish Fleischner family, in Vienna, Austria. He studied five years of medicine at the famous University of Vienna but was forbidden to take the final graduation degree in 1938, the year of the German annexation of Austria.
