Nigerian doctors threaten to strike: Doctors in Nigeria's public hospitals have threatened to go on strike in protest over a new salary structure, which will see all doctors lose between 18% and 30% of their salaries. The Nigerian Medical Association has extended its earlier 21 day ultimatum to the government by a further seven days. During this period the doctors will not provide any emergency services outside normal working hours.
